Watercolors & Wine Workshop with Local Artists

Melissa will guide you in sketching and painting Shells, treasures from the local waters. Learn how she creates delicate washes to capture the subtle shading on the shells. Color mixing will be demonstrated as you capture the neutral shades in the specimens. All materials are included in the workshop, paper, pencils, Christie’s handmade paints to use for the evening. Come explore your creativity, all levels welcome from beginners to experienced artists.

Included in this workshop is The Art of Making Paint with Christie Jones of Swell Anchor Studio. She will demonstrate the handmade watercolor paint making process – a mesmerizing and meditative experience. You will have the opportunity to paint with her collection of handmade watercolors, and can pre-order your own take home kit. When the take home kit is pre-ordered with your ticket sale you’ll receive a savings of $10! The kit includes 3 primary watercolor paints, 1 paint brush, 5 sheets of 6×9″ watercolor paper, and one of Christie’s watercolor design pages to get you started. For each paint color sold one oyster is planted locally!

This 2 hour class includes a glass of Suhru wine. Attendees will go home with a beautiful, unique watercolor painting. Seating is limited. Pre-purchased tickets and registration required to attend. Refunds are not available for this event, if you are unable to attend, your ticket can be transferred to another attendee however it’s your responsibility to find a substitute. Additional glasses of wine and cheese boards available for purchase throughout the event.
