Resveratrol Talk & Wine Tasting with Dr. Pezzuto

Paumanok welcomes Dr. John Pezzuto, Dean and Professor of Pharmaceutics of the Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Pezzuto is a world-renowned researcher, pharmaceutical administrator and innovative educator. He is an author of over 700 publications, including the first report describing the cancer preventive activity of resveratrol, a component of grapes and grape products such as red wine. This single manuscript has been cited over 6,000 times, and resveratrol is now in numerous clinical trials and the subject of over 20,000 manuscripts. Three Paumanok red wines from the 2021 vintage have been tested for their resveratrol content. We will taste these wines as Dr. Pezzuto gives a talk on the health benefits of resveratrol in wine.
