Alena Matejka, born January 26, 1966, is a sculptor and glass designer from the Czech Republic. She creates small and large sculptures from stone, marble, glass and other materials. Her works are on display in museums in Japan, Denmark, Germany, Taiwan and Czech Republic and in public places in Norway, United Arab Emirates, Sweden and Czech Republic.
Barry Grove is a Scottish sculptor who has been carving large stone projects for almost 30 years and is internationally regarded as one of the finest large stone sculptors working today. His works can be seen in large public works in Scotland as well as in private collections in New York, London and the Czech Republic.
Flavia Robalo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1973. In 1997 she made her first trip to Pietrasanta in Italy, one of the most renowned living art centers in the world. Pietrasanta is known as the “Little Athens of Italy” because of the many international artists who chose Pietrasanta as a place to live. It is world famous for its marble and bronze works. Flavia Robalo’s works in marble, wood and other medium have been exhibited around the world in Italy, Argentina, Columbia, France, Spain, Switzerland and Bolivia.
Lars Widenfalk, born 1954 in Sweden, works alternatively as a sculptor in Sweden, the Czech Republic and Italy. He works with many materials including bronze, but usually stone, marble or granite have been his main materials. He has had numerous exhibitions, most in Sweden, but several abroad mainly in Norway, Denmark, Czech Republic and Italy. He is represented in various collections, including the Swedish State Art Council, Goteborg Art Museum, Sundsvall’s Museum and House of Parliament in Sweden, as well as the Modern Museum in Norway.
Giancarlo Biagi was born in Pietrasanta Italy. At the age of 16 he was assisting prestigious artists in this arts center city. He has lived all of his life growing up as a sculptor and continues to work as a sculptor in both Italy and the United States. He lives on the East End where he has a studio. He is Editor-in-Chief and Art Director of Sculpture Review and has exhibited his artwork worldwide. He works in marble, stone and bronze and other materials and has had exhibitions in the United States, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Demark, Canada, Holland, Switzerland, France, and London to name a few.
Jill Burkee was making jewelry and selling it at the age of 12 in her hometown of Aspen, Colorado. At the age of 21 she received a grant to continue her studies and work in Europe. She moved to Pietrasanta, Italy where she began a lifelong collaboration with Italian sculptor Giancarlo Biagi. She works in bronze as well as marble and other materials and has been exhibited worldwide, including in Italy, France, England, Moscow and Canada. Her works have been at the Kremlin Museum in Moscow, the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC and the British Museum on London.
